| "Meritage (pronounced like "heritage") was named by a group of American vintners to identify hand-crafted wines blended from the traditional "noble" Bordeaux varietals. Athena's '06 Meritage was made with a blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 15% Petit Verdot. The blend was aged in new French oak barrels from the forests of central France. The 12.7% alcohol content was chosen to preserve the elegance of this wine. The mellowness and soft tannins with hints of vanilla and chocolate make Athena's Meritage a perfect match for beef and game meats." -Athena Vineyards |
