Lodali Moscato D'Asti
Our Price: $14.00

The Moscato varietal makes an aromatic wine, with loads of fresh fruit flavors bursting from my glass of Lodali D'asti 2007. It is sweet, but beautifully balanced by the wine's effervescence and mild acidity. Being Frizzante, it has only about half the effervescence of a sparkling wine, and is hard to resist. This wine makes a wonderful accompaniment to many desserts, especially those made with fruit such as peach, pear, apple and berries.

Montesecondo Toscana Rosso 2006
Our Price: $21.00

Made from de-classified Chianti Classico fruit, this looker of a sangiovese is a real steal. Big, velveteen fruit is close to what we might call modern, but still retains that classic core of bright acidity that makes Tuscan wines so wonderful with food.

Orsolani Erbaluce di Caluso 'La Rustia' 2008
Our Price: $19.00

An unheralded white varietal from Northwest Italy, Erbaluce entices us with flower petal fuzziness, lacy minerality and just enough weight to be serious and refreshing all at the same time.

Colterenzio Alto Adige Gewurztraminer 2005
Our Price: $25.00

Hailing from their German, Swiss and Austrian roots, many Northern Italian producers keep a little plot of gewurztraminer in their back pocket. Light and ethereal, Italian gewurz is lilting and lithe compared to bigger, thicker German and domestic examples.

Casanova di Neri Tenuta Nuova Brunello 2003
Our Price: $79.00

The Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova came about thanks to the desire to produce a Brunello of great character. We began by searching for land which we believe to be in the best position. The microclimate of the terrain includes the botanical species lentiscus, ilatro, thyme, fillera, marruca, and a type of juniper which demonstrate the exceptional quality of the vineyards of Pietrodonice and Le Cetine. This passionate search together with highly scientific methods in determining the clones, the grafting, the type of cultivation, the density per hectare of the vines and every other minor detail have taken place to obtain excellent Sangiovese grapes. It is aged in small oak casks for 24 to 30 months according to the vintage and then for at least a year in the bottle. The first vintage produced was in 1993.

Casanova di Neri Pietradonice IGT 2005
Our Price: $109.00

Rated 91 points by Wine Spectator!
"The 2005 Pietradonice, also from vines in Sant-Antimo, reveals an inky color along with open, warm aromatics from the toasted oak. It is silky-textured and opulent on the palate, with layers of blackberries, blueberries, cassis, spices, minerals and sweet toasted oak that flow as the wine opens in the glass. The tannins are well-integrated and the wine offers outstanding balance. In 2005 the Pietradonice is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon rather than the typical 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Sangiovese blend. The wine was aged in 300-liter barrels of which approximately half were new. Pietradonice remains one of the most promising wines of its type, especially given that the vines were only planted between 1993 and 1996. If the vines can get to the point where they express more varietal character this could very well turn out to be an exceptional wine in future vintages. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2017"

Casanova di Neri Sant Antimo Rosso di Casanova di Neri 2006

Rated 90 points by Wine Spectator!
"Casanova di Neri's 2006 Rosso di Casanova di Neri is a cask-aged blend of 90% Sangiovese and 10% Colorino grown in the Sant-Antimo appellation which lies just beyond the southern border of the Brunello zone. The Sangiovese is aged in 48 and 72 hectoliter casks while the Colorino is aged in smaller 6 hectoliter barrels. The wine is sweet and expansive on the palate, where it offers compelling notes of dark cherries, smoke and tar with outstanding depth and terrific overall balance. Drink this beautifully-balanced, pleasing Rosso over the next few years. It is a great introduction to the house style at a price that won-t break the bank. 2006 is the first vintage in which this wine carries that Sant-Antimo designation rather than the Rosso di Montalcino designation of previous vintages. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2011." -erobertparker.com
